Our Vision for Design and Technology
Students at SJB study Design and Technology to become individuals who are equipped with the skills, understanding and responsibility for shaping the world for future generations. Curiosity, creativity, adaptability, independence, and problem solving underpin everything we do.

Year 7
Introduction to Design and Technology: Projects include design history, origins of materials, health and safety in the workshop, workshop skills, computer aided design and manufacture, drawing skills, timber and polymers.
Year 7 DT Assessment Framework
Year 8
The bigger picture of Design and Technology: Projects include sustainability, mechanical systems, the work of others, packaging, advance drawing skills and metals.

The Future of Design and Technology: Understanding the NEA structure completing a project focussing on the contextual challenge, understanding client and target markets and iterative design in two areas:
- Graphics: modelling, branding, creative
- Materials: fabricating with timber design
